## Overview

Peipsi Järvefestival (also: peipsifestival) is a multi-day cultural festival held on and around Lake Peipsi (also known as Lake Peipus or Чудское озеро), Estonia's largest lake bordering Russia. Over 7 days (4–10 July 2026), cultural ships travel from harbour to harbour along the western shore of the lake, bringing free workshops, folk music concerts, local food, and boat trips to each community.

The festival's escort fleet (Estonian: saatelaevastik) invites private boats, sailboats, kayaks, and paddleboards to travel alongside the cultural vessels. Admission to all workshops and cultural events is free.

## Daily Harbours (Programme Stops)

Every harbour also hosts two common children's/family workshops: a barge model making workshop for children (lodjamudelite meisterdamine) and a Rescue Board water safety workshop (Päästeameti veeohutuse õpituba). The Kalanduse teabekeskus (fisheries information centre) fish fin identification workshop with biologist Maarika Männil runs 17:00–20:00 in Mustvee, Varnja, Räpina, Mehikoorma and Luunja — free of charge, funded by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMKVF).

## Escort Fleet (Saatelaevastik)

The festival invites private boats, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards and other watercraft permitted on Lake Peipsi to join the escort fleet.
